Merry Andrew speaksI think the answer to your question -- is Utopia possible -- is contained in the definition of the word. Utopia literally means Nowhere. We speak of something impossible as a "Utopian dream." Of course Utopia is not possible. I'm not sure, though, whether this is due to the "evil" in human nature (that's a very subjective term) or just the cussedness of the way things are.

Of all the people I have talked to on A2K.....Merry Andrew, Is the man to listen to.

Look at his history!!!!! Something by his character he tells me it is true and he tells the truth.

If Merry Andrew is a LIER?!?!?.........Then I am a Lier too.

I am touched -- truly touched -- by your tribute, Amigo.

'Course, some people say I'm 'touched', anyhow.

Andrew,

Don't be a stranger. I would like to know what you think about some philosophical things on the world and human nature.

You seem to be free of ego and an agenda.

Amigo,

Somebody once told me they thought I had a "hidden agenda." I said, "Hidden agenda? I don't even have an overt, declared agenda. I'm lucky if I know what I'm doing from one moment to the next, never mind having an agenda."

As for ego, I do have an inflated image of the self. But it doesn't seem to get in the way of anything important. Smile

Beer is one solution (pun).

Although I would not call it as solid solution (double pun).

Then again perhaps beer would be best described as a non-homogeneous mixture, but that would shut down the pun-factory!

@dagmaraka,
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, shouting...."holy ****...what a ride!"

ha!!! That is a great line - did you write that?
Will Tequila do?

Waiting

I am waiting for peace.
A peace that is releif.
A peace that is a natural curse.

Comfort is killing my peace.
Fine food is starving me.
Let it loose, let a piece of me loose, let me breath my poverty
Let my root breath

But then it is my own choice, there is no wait, I fail myself.

@CalamityJane,
Trouble? I thrive on trouble, I eat it. Stagnation though, it will kill my spirit.

@candide,
WEll, why did you have to take a Mormon girl anyways? Then again,
polygamy could be your game - you just have to work twice as hard to support
them all.

@Amigo,
The spirit is drowned down.

When the light turns green, push the peddle.
When they talk, catch key phrases so you know what to do or say next.

Theres an inviting light coming from the corner. The peripheral. Stay focussed,

Unfocussed. focus.
