@izzythepush,

I wonder what Steve Bell is going to make of this. Presumably the Grauniad would not scruple to print it.

Shame.

@McTag,
Quote:

“It costs almost the same to travel to Germany to see a Bundesliga match as it does to stay in the UK and attend a Premier League game,” said Naren Shaam, CEO of GoEuro. “These numbers might lead you to question whether home fans in the UK are really getting a fair deal for their money.’’

He said each week more than 2,000 British fans travel to see Borussia Dortmund play.

If cost is a motivation those fans have made a sound financial move. Followers of the Bundesliga can get a return flight out to Dortmund with Easyjet for £114, whereas Chelsea fans wanting to buy a last minute train ticket to see their team play Newcastle on Saturday would pay a minimum of £127 to go there and back.

@Walter Hinteler,
Had to post this somewhere. I know it's only the MK Dons, but 6 nil.

Quote:
Jay Rodriguez, Sadio Mane and Shane Long each scored twice as Southampton thrashed MK Dons in the League Cup.

Rodriguez curled a shot in off the post to put the visitors in front before Mane slotted in from a tight angle.

Mane then produced a composed finish after a cross from Long, who was fouled as MK Dons conceded a penalty which Rodriguez converted.

A Kyle McFadzean clearance hit Long in the chest and went in before the Saints striker slotted in his second.

How Wednesday's League Cup drama unfolded

This was the first time MK Dons, who have lost their past four Championship games, had conceded six goals in a competitive game.

@izzythepush,
Spurs Mr. Green (yes, 10 min still to go, perhaps a not regular goal)

@Walter Hinteler,

What the hell happened at White Hart Lane? Not looking forward very much to MoTD.

@McTag,
Me neither, Spurs poached Pochettino and Alderweireld, not to mention Glenn Hoddle! That makes them the bad boys.

@izzythepush,

Not seen it yet, but I suppose City played a weakened team because they've got a European cup tie coming up. Dortmund I think.

@McTag,

Not a particularly weakened team, but more that a suspicion of offside here and there, and the goalie (not Joe Hart) had a nightmare.

Bummer. I hate it when City lose.

@McTag,
City pretty much dominated the first half. Spurs had all the luck as well.

I like it when City win big, United lose, and England rugby are humiliated after mucho macho talk about how well they were going to do.

A good weekend of sport.

@McTag,
Southampton beating Chelsea 3-1 is all that matters. I'm a bit worried about Liverpool sacking Brendan Rodgers, I don't want them sniffing around Ronald Koeman.

Rugby? When I was at school that's where they made me put my head in places that would make David Cameron blush. Don't want to have to do, or watch that any more.

@izzythepush,
Chelsea? The team with the best manager of the world? Wink

I've read, a German manager has been framed for Liverpool ...

@Walter Hinteler,
We're lucky to have played them during a bad spell with Diego Costa suspended.

@eurocelticyankee,
I can't see Liverpool being relegated, much as I'd like to, but I can't see them claiming top spot either.
