Britons get more sleep than almost any other nationality – but still wake up grumpiest
Quote:
Britons get more sleep than almost every nationality in the world and still wake up grumpier than most, a new study has revealed.

In the UK, we get an average of seven hours and 22 minutes sleep every night, according to the study by Sleep Cycle.

Just three other countries worldwide get more sleep than this- Finland, the Netherlands and New Zeland each clock up seven hours 23 minutes, 24 minutes and 27 minutes respectively.

However, despite being one of the best rested nations, the UK wakes up as one of the grumpiest. The study asked people to rate their mode upon waking and found that Britons averaged just 60 per cent in their mood rankings.

Perhaps predictably this peaks at the weekend when mood ratings rise to a high of 64 per cent, before dropping to the lowest happiness ratings on a Monday morning of 59 per cent.

By contrast, Mexico wakes up happiest, noting an average mood rating of 70 per cent.

The study also found that the average bedtime in Britain is 12:28am, whilst the most common time to get up in the morning is 7:33am.

Hooray! They're coming back with Michael Palin filling in for Oliver Postgate.

Women's World Cup.

Group F (Montreal) latest.

England are 2-0 up against Colombia (really good game so far), but France are currently beating Mexico 4-0.....both games at the 45 minute stage.
If things remain the same, France will win Group F on goal difference (both teams will have 6 points).
England will end up second, and go to Ottowa to play Norway in the next round.

Groups and Tables....

England 2-1 Colombia.

France 5-0 Mexico.

France win the group, England 2nd, so England now go to Ottowa to play Norway.

I live on the h of posh people, and you are wedged between a drunken sailor and a gay person.
