Tell you what FM, next time you're south of the border, down Buenos Airies way, chowing down with your Argentinian buddies, why not ask them if they think America had **** all to do with the coup in Honduras? See if they can keep a straight face when they answer.

What makes you think that the ministry of resources people would know any better than you? They , like you, dont value arguments based on information but on origins.
Try to question everything Izzy.

@izzythepush,
did uk send any humanitarian aid?
did the guardian report that an election affirmed everything that happenmed and the honduran supreme court tried to enforce?

wasnt the guardian the paper that was criticized for glomming off blogs as journalism? i

@farmerman,
As a proportion of GDP the UK gives one hell of a lot more in aid than America.

The Guardian is a far better paper than anything you have to offer.

@izzythepush,
US. government aid to other countries is indeed smaller than that of the former colonial powers. However when transfer payments of foreigners who work (and in many cases live) here are included our financial transfers far eclipse those of the UK, even on a GDP basis.

Izzy appears to me to be a bit hard to love. Glat you're all not like that.

@georgeob1,
We too have transfer payments but I don't know how much they represent of GDP. The complaints about them are probably the best guide.

@spendius,
I'm sure you do, as do most advanced economies. Ours are very large.

@georgeob1,

The Scots give more per capita than do the English in charitable donations, I have seen recently.
Which to me is not surprising, despite Sir Harry Lauder's imagery.

Could I trouble either one of you two green gents to take 3 minutes out of your lives and upload a proper image to gravatar?

@Ticomaya,

(Not sure if I'm included in this request, but) I never understood how to do that,

Arnie.

@McTag,
Go to gravatar.com, and log in (upper right corner). Use the email you use for A2K. Add a new image to upload (this assumes you have one already saved to your hard drive), crop as desired, and select. Voila.

@Ticomaya,
Adds, sometimes it takes a few minutes or even a half hour to show up as your avatar, so don't worry if you don't see it right away.

I don't mind submarines. It's the guys who serve in them I don't like.

@McTag,
If people have chosen avatar large in preferences, if they click on it the page will go to your profile, where the avatar shows up bigger. Very nice indeed, McTag.
