@roger,

And Braunschweig is Brunswick.

If you ask me, I think Habsburg got off lightly.

Oh, don't be silly. We've got a town in New Jersey called Teaneck. A fine old Dutch family name. We just corrected the faulty Dutch spelling of Ten Ecke.

Sorry, a bad hapitude. And I don't want to start with the hapeas corpus act now, either, ...

That's okay, since Braunschweig is called Brunswiek in low German.

@Walter Hinteler,

Met Commissioner Stephenson gone.

Cameron next? What a time to be out of the country- he's in South Africa.

There's not much left for Private Eye to be sarcastic about.

@Walter Hinteler,

Good article, Walter, thanks.

Maybe it will resurface in The Guardian, but I've printed it out anyway.

The week that changed politics in Britain, eh.

@Walter Hinteler,
Well if you can post the same thing on two threads so can I.

If you'd ever been to Watford you'd quickly find yourself losing the will to live.

That was funny. Just as the strap was going across the bottom of the Sky News screen congratulating us all on free speech and transparency the comic aimed the custard pie at Rupe and they cut the pictures off explaining that when an incident occurs it is protocol to forget free speech and transparency.

That Brooks woman certainly knows how to choose her words carefully. It was one non sequitur after another. I presume she hoped we didn't notice on the assumption we are all thick.

@izzythepush,
Isn't the job going to Cressida Dick, the woman who supervised the shooting in cold blood of an innocent Brazilian on the tube?

Izzythepush, interesting name, might one suppose you are a midwife?

@izzythepush,

I don't know what one a them is.

Wendy Deng, she's quite a lady. I wouldn't tangle with her.

Now our meeja are getting quite apologetic about the emphasis placed on the Murdoch saga, when other more important worldwide events are going barely reported, but it rumbles on. It's beginning to look bad for young James, which is good. I read yesterday too, that James' grandmother was very disapproving when Rupert bought our scandal-rag the NoTW. He should have listened to his mum.
