@McTag,
Colder than a witch's elbow, colder than a witch's tit, colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra, colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra on the north side of a glacier in the middle of a blizzard in January, cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey ...

Yuletide songs being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like esquimaux....

My new snow shovel is working a treat. Get the fresh fall before it has been trampled, that's the ticket.
I also got a bag of rock salt from Wickes. The straight left and the right cross. Winter doesn't know what hit it.

@Ticomaya,
I don't know about nuns but witch's tits are lovely and warm.

There's two dyed-in-the-wool misogynists about who don't know what a witch is and have bought into the propaganda while in short pants and haven't been enlightened since.

@spendius,
Spendi you better have a pep talk to Mr. Strauss and partners as they are about to bite the dust! The Aussies only need 5 wickets and will win the match with a day and a bit to spare!

The weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
Since we've got no place to go...
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Loads of rich people stuck at British airports this morning. And I daresay, loads of transit passengers stuck all over Europe and further afield.

Trying not to feel smug. There was a story this morning, people forced to sleep in the floor of the terminal at Heathrow were told to vacate the building around midnight, causing ructions, then theye were wakened at 4 a.m. by tannoy musak: "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time".

Oh dear, oh lor.

Is that a scientific question fm? If it is it is patently ridiculous.

@farmerman,

May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmasses be white.

Struggling to understand fm's latest post. I'm sure there's an explanation.

Even colder here today. I hope everyone is keeping well.

We had roast leg of lamb yesterday, with a nice red wine.

I'm going to take a nice warm shower.

@McTag,
Its written with the "Invisible ink" font. You need the special sauce to read it. Anyway it was meant for another.

SO, how much snow have you had so far?

As he has said fm, he has deployed his new snow shovel so it must be quite a lot.

It depends on what you mean by "you", as Bill Clinton might have said.
Nobody can answer this, you'll have to look on Wikileaks.

Unprecedented confusion at London airports and St Pancras Eurostar railway terminal.
People are being asked not to go there, to cancel their travel plans, because the operators cannot clear the backlog of people already waiting.
Heathrow is Europe's biggest long-haul airport. This is Europe's busiest travel week.
Oh dearie, dearie me.

@farmerman,

Jesus Christ, who got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?
And there I was, trying to be merry and gay.

A happy winter solstice to all present.

I was actually attempting to forestall the expected transtlantic retort:
"You call that a snowfall? Why, around these parts we've had snow up to our bollocks for weeks, and the transport system never missed a beat!"

I dont live in a snow belt so when we get anything over a few inches I stay home.
Maybe you dont realize that your responses to my simple question sounded purposely off putting and smartass. I dont think you meant it that way. perhaps Im a bit sensitive , what with my parole hearing coming up after the holidays.
