Shocked When you say interesting do you mean baffling ? By comparison to what i have been called, if you are calling them names, feel free to call me names any day. You were elucid and eloquent as one would expect of an educated gentleman talking about poetry to peasants, especially english poetry to american peasants. Very Happy

(shhhh....I thumbed you up to see if it would annoy them...dont tell anyone )

@Ionus,
What is so ridiculous Io is that such things as--

Quote:
EDGAR 1, ----SPENDI 0.

and similar assertions--grant others the right to respond in kind and then all communication has ceased which is then uncontestable scientific evidence that socialising with evolutionists is pointless unless socialising means incoherent jabbering. And that was the point under discussion with Ed.

That anti-evolutionists have an argument with evolutionists regarding the impossibility of social interaction with them. (see Dawkins calling an opponent "lower than an earthworm".) And that their company is worth taking pains to avoid.

When evolutionists are responded to in the manner they have encouraged, but with much more wit, style and verve, they immediately throw up their arms like a regretful, deflowered damsel and beseech onlookers to pity their forlorn state with handwringings and pitiful squealings and yelpings.

It's pathetic. And it's been going on for years. I can't even explain it to them such is the state their socialisation has left them in.

One can but live in hope that witnesses are saved from the same horrible fate as to be unable to be tolerated in pubs.

@wandeljw,

Yes, football. Not soccer, America. Get it right.

Looks like Barca were a bit too good for the Gunners. Well, if you saw the first game, they are. Superb.

@Rockhead,
The map of England had funny captions about sheep and dirt.

My ten year old daughter showed me the "Badger, Badger, Badger" video on YouTube. There are at least ten varieties of these videos. When I saw the one making fun of British football, it reminded me of the British Thread on A2K. I am happy that McTag took it in good humor.

@Ionus,

The Spanish call it futbol.

It's evidently a different game from what the Italians call soccera Inglesi, if Barcelona's display is anything to judge by.

Americans have that game where they carry the ball in their hands, which we call American football. It'll never catch on in any of the civilised countries, in my opinion.

@McTag,
Spanish, Italians ...what is the difference ? They all look alike to me. Very Happy In Oz we have Soccer, League, Rugby, Aussie Rules and backgammon. You just live in terror...the Ozies are coming and one day we will be a soccer nation to reckon with...your only excuse for the inevitable thrashing will be you were playing fut-da-ball while we were playing soccer.

@Ionus,

I think the English will struggle against the Yanks. Too much football, too much pressure, it wears them out, poor things.

@Ionus,
Brazilians call it that way (prununciation wise).

Italians call it "calcio" and a football player is a "calciatore"..
