You have an odd sense of humour DP. Eraserhead is miles funnier than that. Light year miles.

I'll leave that one to the 1st year film students. I want to be entertained, not disturbed.

Pain me though it might, I have to side with Spendy on this one. My knickers remained dry.

And I'm puzzled.
Did Sesame Street put on the spoof?
Did Messrs Peschi and de Niro collaborate with a spoof?
Or, as seems more likely, were the voices just being mimicked?
Or was the soundtrack already existing, and sombody made the dolls perform to suit?
Does any of this matter?
Am I too stupid?

Oh dear.

I doubt very much that the Sesame Street producers are behind this.
I also doubt if DeNiro and Pesci were informed / involved / collaberated with.
The voices are real (it's dialogue from a scene in the movie Casino) the footage of Bert and Ernie has been cut to match the dialogue.
Yes it matters!
No you're not too stupid, just a little.
Smile
Oh well, I thought it was hilarious (LOVE DeNiro and Pesci and Bert and Ernie and gangster films, so this clip was made for me.)

It was cliche strings with eff words inserted at attention grabbing intervals.

As Macs brilliant precis shows Eraserhead is screaming ab-dabs laughing tackle. Like Twin Peaks. Monastic recruitment.

The key to the action is obviously Henry impregnating Mary which takes place before the movie starts and presumably is symbolised by the signal box operative shifting the points.

I think the film is more or less banned as it is supposed to disturb people with an underdeveloped sense of humour and a lack of appreciation of poetic licence.

Lynch has twice won France's César Award for Best Foreign Film and served as President of the jury at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival, where he had previously won the Palme d'Or in 1990. He was also honored by the French government with the Legion of Honor (Chevalier in 2002 then Officier in 2007). On September 6. 2006 Lynch received a Golden Lion award for lifetime achievement at the Venice Film Festival. He also premiered his latest work, INLAND EMPIRE, at the festival.[11]

To date he has received four Academy Award nominations: Best Director for The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986) and Mulholland Drive (2001), as well as Best Adapted Screenplay for The Elephant Man (1980).

France awarded Lynch the Legion of Honor, that country's top civilian honor.

I watched it to the end this time, and you're right, the SS footage was cut to suit the soundtrack, very skilfully.
Mildly amusing. Slightly damp.
These actors do shout and swear a lot, don't they?
I don't know Joe Peschi's work well, but I liked him in "My Cousin Vinny"

Mac-

Just remember that "work" is only correctly used there if you mean it in the sense of the way the talker worked the bargain hunters at mock auctions which I presume you have heard about.

I thought they had banned them because the protagonists were mis-matched but I've seen it done on telly.

Sorry I couldn't post before...

I was wringing out my knickers.

I thought it was V funny. But then I know the scene from the film.

You have to know FILM to really appreciate the quality off it.

Mornin' all!

I'm skint and it's 2 weeks to pay pay. Do you think I've been a victim of that there identity fraud? Reckon my details were on that disc. D'ya think I'll see Mr Darling in the Jobcentre? Of course being sacked for gross misconduct, may lead to a possible sanction on his benefit.

Morning, Smorgs, morning, everyone.* (*copyright, Rabbi Lionel Blue)

I woke early because I was worried about Mr Darling and his problems. I bet he wishes he had been a postman instead.

I'm going to Malu's today for a curry with Cliff. Lunch in the big city, how exciting!

somebody's sent me a couple of cds. Very boring just a few names and addresses. No possible interest to me, putting them on ebay. Or offers from a2kers?

...............................................................

I struck gold yesterday. Crown fell off. Managed not to swallow it, now plucking up courage to go to the dentist...

Alternatively I'm tempted to do a bit of diy dentistry with superglue or araldite. Which is best?

He made a joke yesterday with the punchline of a Jewish mother asking her go getting son if he was still circumcised. A very irritating rabbi imo.

Enjoy your lunch McT.

What's poetic license got to do with it? I'm not trying to detract from David Lynch in any way, I happen to think he's an excellent director. (and yes big applause for the "foundation" blah blah blah) I was merely remarking that Eraserhead is not my choice of film when I' looking for something comical. Bloody hell! You're so defensive spendy. Chill the **** out ************.

Okay I went to the Manchester Christmas Market today and it's really good! It's a lot bigger this year.
Felt ever so festive, and I could have been in deepest Bavaria, with a dash of Poland, Holland, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Merrie Old England thrown in. Most confusing. You can eat and drink yourself silly there, and buy all your Crimbo prezzies, if you've got the brass that is.

My takeaway strudel came in a plastic bag with the following script, and I hope Francis or somebody will translate it for me:

Bellezza che io ho scorto, non cancellarti mai piu! Perche tu sei eterna.

Hiya!

Interviewed a customer today, who smelt very strongly of exotic cooking...

He made me hungry!

Can you tell I'm on a diet?
