I hope this is acceptable to do at this forum, as I am looking for someone who would be willing to discuss a sensitive problem from time to time with me via email. I sometimes get in strange situations with my students - mostly 16 - 18 year old high school students with lack of confidence, and I am not comfortable to talk about it on the forum. I am looking for a teacher, who could explain what mistakes I make in a friendly and positive way. I thought Aidan was the best for that task - she has very similar attitude toward teaching - so I asked her to email me, but for some reason she never did. So if anyone likes Aidan's attitudes and would like to help out from time to time, then let me know. Thank you.

I just found this ryunin. I do remember you asking me to e-mail you, but I guess I forgot about it, or thought about it and figured that if you couldn't pm me, I'd have to give you my personal e-mail.

I hesitate to do that with people I don't know. Please don't take it personally-I haven't given it to anyone on this forum, not even people I've been in on/off communication with from the very first day I posted almost two years ago. I just have never developed a relationship with anyone that feels real and honest enough (like a real friendship) for me to do that with.

I will however be happy to talk to you about any issues you have on the forum here, and maybe if we talk enough and get to know each other well enough, I'll feel able to trust that you're for real, and we can then begin to communicate in real life. It's seemed to have worked that way for others-I don't know why it couldn't eventually work with at least one person with me Laughing .

Seriously, I do enjoy talking about teaching and would be happy to do so- just don't use names of students or schools or any other identifying information and it should be fine.

Sorry if I seemed rude or dismissive or as if I was ignoring you. I truly didn't mean to.

Thank you Aidan, it makes sense what you said and explained why you didn't email me.

There is clear difference between emailing people not knowing them and knowing someone, I agree. On the other hand I think email enables to ask about things you hesitate to ask in person. I definetely don't believe it is possible to develop real friendship through email, so I used the term "online
friend" which suggests maybe that it would be only very shallow or very specific kind of friendship dealing with one or two topics.

Anyway, it is up to you to allow an email exchange. So I guess I will start a new handle because I have already revealed too much and this handle is all over the place, I use it in different forums on the net, dealing with different things.

So I guess you will sooner or later figure out which handle I have changed into, but that is not as important as helping me with the delicate problems, which would be awesome if you could. If somebody else adds something negative or critical, I just have to deal with it, no problem. Ithink i will face some hard criticism, but whatever. I am not perfect and never will be. I just want to be honest and deal with my shortcomings in a straightforward way. But before I do something silly, I'd liek to consult with someone more experienced and less naive. Thank you Aidan, see you around the forum.
