Enjoyed a tummy rub? Miss Lacey? Her nick name is 'The Flopper'.....if she's near a human, she will flop over on her back to beg for a tummy rub. She's not very graceful flopping on beds or chairs though.....has a tendency to fall because she turns to mush having her belly rubbed.

That's my cat. Complete mush.

Yes, Vivien, & think of how virtuous you'll feel, creating a good home for these lost critters. Very Happy

Oooh such WONDERFUL pictures Urs!!You have a talent with
the camera I see. It looks like you have some gorgeous
kitties there. You also have plenty of fun space for them. I
get such a kick out of watching them play with, in & on their
toys. Cats KNOW HOW TO LIVE!! Eat, play & sleep. Then
repeat as needed. A MILLION THANKS FOR SO MANY
KIND WORDS FROM ALL OF YOU KIND DEAR PEOPLE!
BigDice, Roger, Urs, Nex, Rae & every one of you, Such
beautiful wonderful people, all concentrated in such a little
group ... how VERY fortunate I am to have such dear folks
to share with. I also have 2 totally black cats and odd as it
is; each one is the EXACT polar opposite of the other.
One girl is Jettie - who NEVER goes outdoors & there's Sadie,
who HATES to come inside(except in bad thunderstorms or
when we have the bizarre Florida freeze going on - she may
hate being house bound but she isn't stupid  ) Both of
these lovely little ladies were rescued by Cats Angels. Cats
rescued by Cats Angels seem a bit like kids shifted from one
foster home to another - it REALLY takes much time to build
a trusting relationship. Right now, both seem a bit disgruntled
about Snicker's sudden appearance here, AND distressed
about Kita NOT being here. But I can tell that they are
warming up to Snickers and enjoying her "kitten antics".
*RAE - Such a gorgeous white bib on your Lacey darling.
I've had many cats but never one like yours. I usually
wind up with all one color, striped or calicos of every
conceivable variety. Black-white-brown, orange-brown-white,
grey-taupe-orange, you name it & we've probably had it!
**URS Your photos from the trip are superb also... I'm
planning on BEING THERE NEXT YEAR!!! Hoping for best.
Another medical problem is rearing its ugly head and I'll be
heading south to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL by
tomorrow afternoon. But so far this summer we DID get
in a little vacation in the mountains with my grandson Jade,
granddaughter Madison and my eldest daughter Shocked
Tracey. And it went well. So, miracles DO happen. Very Happy

Best of luck with your test tomorrow, babs. I will remember to think good thoughts for you!

My sister graduated from UF and worked at Shands for four years.

You'll be in good hands there.

Let us know what happens, please!

Still waiting for the update from babs.....

Just finished telling Mom my Lacey story of the day.....

Mom gave me this whatdoyacallitthingymabob to stick on my computer ~ it's a pen holder for two pens. While checking the online classifieds today, Lacey jumped on the desk between me and the keyboard, as is her habit. She eventually fixed her attention on the pens in the holder, proceeded to knock one out from rubbing on it with her cheek. Soon as the pen hit the desk she turned around and looked right at me. All I could think to say was 'thank you'.....and I swear to you, Lacey smiled. You could've knocked me over with a feather.....

Yes! That sounds like a plan! Just don't tell him where you're going.

Or ya could just go get the kitties yourself and bring them home.....

I'm first in line to be a godhuman to the new members of your family!

I know I've mentioned this story somewhere before.....

My dog, Maggie, was a Mother's Day gift to myself thirteen years ago. Her mother was a cocker-spaniel and her father a dachshund (Maggie was black as the ace of spades) ~ her parents belonged to a coworker who would not take 'no' for an answer!

I didn't confer with my ex about bringing Maggie home. She was delivered to me (while ex was at work) at only 5 and 1/2 weeks old, but she'd been weaned. She fit in one hand.

When hubby came home, I told him I had a surprise. My son helped his Dad sit on the couch and put his two little hands over his Dad's eyes.

When he was allowed to open his eyes, Maggie was there. And I swear, the man fell in love instantly.

Maggie is still the perpetual puppy. The ex has custody of her. She is pampered and loved and guards her home ferociously. (Even though she'd probably lick a burgular to death.....) I keep doggie treats in my glove box for when I visit and Maggie usually can hear my car coming a block away ~ because I can hear her barking about then!

Gosh, I can ramble. Need to make sure that's put on my gravestone.

Oh, it has been such a LONG time since I last posted
one word here... I just haven't been able to sit down at
the computer. I am too jittery, too tired, or too bored
to sit at my computer.
HOWEVER - please do forgive me for not updating with the
latest news. I am safe and okay for now, the ER doc at
the hospital in Gainesville has assured me that the condition
has not yet repeated itself (which is what I thought had
happened) but he did assure me that I need serious
consultation with an excellent GI doc. So, there is a group
in Gainesville that I think I shall start seeing & SOON.
There is something wrong with my liver, and quite likely
something else very wrong to have caused the thing called
intussusception of the intestinal tract. I have found out
that my surgeon SHOULD have done immediate
laparoscopic surgery at the time it was discovered... but
he just happened to be one of many of our selfish Florida
doctors who went out on strike (tho they called it a vacation)
for a month, over the cost of their malpractice insurance.
And he was going on strike the very next day, so .... that
is how I ended up being dumped, not being told what was
REALLY wrong. In short, I probably will have a lawsuit
going on if something could have been found sooner
rather than later, due to his negligence.
ON THE BETTER SIDE OF LIFE; Snickers LOVES it here, she
is so much fun. Jettie(the indoor black cat) has begun
playing with her, and those 2 are loving each other and
helping me so much to get past the loss of Kita. I'll get
some photos posted one day soon. I have never seen
Jettie act like such a young cat. Snickers is good for her
....they horse around like 2 kittens. Life is good. You all
are so thoughtful. I know plenty of people who can't see
why or how a person could become so attached to a cat,
since they often behave aloof and disdainful....but not
really. WE know that is just their "act" ...like when they
run into a glass door, and immediately try to act like
it was intentional, or at least don't want to be seen acting
loony. Laughing Love you guys!

I'd sue his sorry ass all the way to malpractice hell for something like that!!!
Happy to hear that you're in good ahnds in Gainesville, though! :-)

Love to hear that Jettie and Snickers are getting along so well, they'll help you cope and make your day less boring!

hugs, stefan
