Craven, just curious, but is it a bug that the number of posts someone has made never seems to match the number of search results from the 'Find all posts by member' query? For example, at the time of posting this, I've had 900 posts but my find all posts link has 888 search results, while Letty has 1881 posts but the search somehow turns up 1883 results.
..Choto hen desu ne.
It's due to several things.
A) pruned posts do not decrease post count unless the database tables are re-synched. For that reason the post count may not represent the actual number of posts that still exist.
Note: deletion of posts does reduce post count.
B) Permissions. The post count does not authenticate permissions but the serach does. So a member who posts on a forum that you do not have access to will display a post count that your search will not corroborate.
Some members have ONLY posted to private forums causing graet confusion.
Both issues are not big enough for me to modify code and possibly place a greater load on the server (i.e. if I made the post count authenticate against permissions the viewforum page would ahve too many database queries for my liking.
Kepp the bug reports coming Monger, thus far you ahve reported more VALID bugs than the whole forum combined.
ah. all is clear
cheers mate
