Why is James considered to be the half-brother of Jesus? Since they had the same biological parents, shouldn't James and Jesus just be called brothers?

Uh... I think that would be because they had different fathers...
I thought that Joseph was father to both.
...never heard about that "immaculate conception" thing, huh?
I thought Jesus was son of God !!
Hey, Jesus is right here on this forum (I am Jesus Thread) - why don't we ask him ?
One mother, and two fathers. In the case of James, the sperm came from Joseph and in the case of Jesus, the sperm didn't come from Joseph.
Is this correct?
So, was there really sperm in the case of the birth of Jesus?

Are you for real? You're just havin' some good ole, juvie-type fun, right?
So, does god have sperm? Or did Gabriel have sperm? Since Jesus was not a clone of his mother where did the other DNA come from?
Oh, I forgot; god works in mysterious ways.

Egg + Sperm = zygote Biology 101

God does work in mysterious ways. So?
since there is such confusion about James being the older brother of Jesus, how about we just say James is Jesus's father. We know for sure that Joseph isn't - don't we? c.i.
Well, let's say Jesus had a father. How's that?
My brother's name is James, I'll ask him.
Read Eisennmann's "James, The Brother of Jesus."
then, for laughs, read Baigent, Leigh and Lincoln!
At Rennes-le-Chateau France (scene of various mysteries surrounding "The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail) there are two statues in the Church on either side of the alter, Mary and Joseph, each holding one of the brothers.
