...people would understand me a lot better.
What do you think? (probably don't belong in this section, but just think of it as the lighter side of philosophy  )
If we all spoke in song
Then we wouldn't know right from wrong
Because everything would be metaphor
And for all the words we'd write a score
And then we'd need to take our time
And organize our thoughts in rhyme
And meaning would be more restricted
By even sterner rules depicted
And since already grammar hinders
All meaning would be dust and cinders
All in all not much would alter
Except, I guess, that more would falter
And he who spoke wouldn't always be
The one who which clearest could see
The man with powers over word
And not much wisdom would be heard
If we spoke in rhyme and song
We'd know even less of right and wrong.
Did my question invoke a exactly similiar poem of yours? Or did you make that up on spot?
I made that up on the spot
It's just a talent I've got
So I'd be one never wrong
If we were to speak in song
I think it would have its' good points and some of the bad things your poems creativly suggests.
Probably. A good thing would probably be that there'd be less folks just shooting their mouth off.
But I doubt that understanding would be advanced by it, though it wouldn't neccesarily be hampered by it.
Personally I think that most philosophic topics are better expressed in rhyme, simply because we put more effort into interpreting the words when they're in rhyme. When they're not we just take for granted that we understand what they say, when that may not be the case at all.
Excellent point...
Hmm, when I think about speaking in song, I imagine music just manifesting iteself when anyone talks. Now that would be beyond words
Yea.
I've often thought about how cool it would be to have my own personal theme music, accompanying me everywhere.
Sounds like something from "Family Guy".
