[answered] Problems with PMs

Reply Tue 9 Jan, 2007 11:27 am
I have set my preferences so that I get an e-mail alert whenever someone sends me a PM. Well, I checked my e-mail today and it said that I received a PM yesterday, but I checked my PMs and there's nothing there. Are we having issues with the PMs now? Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? And if anyone sent me a PM recently and I didn't reply, can you send it again?

I didn't know that you could do that. So that means I could have had one last chance to take back some of the stupid things that I said in past PMs. I'll know better next time.

You can edit 'em or delete 'em until someone has read 'em. Same idea as the last post on a thread, pretty much, with reading = responding. (As in, you can edit or delete a post if it hasn't yet been responded to, just as you can edit or delete a PM if it hasn't yet been read.) (I've deleted many, especially the ventier ones.)

Yep, you can do that. You'll also get multiple email notices if someone edits a PM before you've picked it up, one for each send.

Oh, I didn't know that. (I have my email notification sent to an email address I pretty much never check, so I just delete the notifications en masse when I DO check, without reading them.)

Good to know since I also edit rather often.
