Nefarious execution of Hussein hailed by Washington is American yet another attempt to show whole world who's who. Bitter piece of truth is that we are staying where we were when Americans made that stir in Iraq. Our contribution to Bush's adventure in Iraq and that precious ?'peacekeeping mission' in Afghanistan didn't make Americans more prone to any compromises. They still don't care a bit about our vision of world events and all that. Europe is strongly against any capital punishment even if the crimes are appalling. Americans preferred just to ignore our position.
And we swallowed it once again. That's really alarming I think. Hussein's execution is sure to trigger Muslim violence throughout the world. And Muslim immigrants are actually Achilles heel of Europe. We may face violence on their part matching the Muslim protests in wake of Prophet Muhammad caricature scandal. Our subordinate role in the relationship vs. America comes too costly imo.
Btw. The destiny of the two closest to Hussein associates is still unclear. They are Avad Hamed al-Bandar and Barzan al-Tikriti. If they are executed, it may only make things worse in terms of our safety in Europe and democracy in Iraq.
