Help please.

A farmer traveled to the market. He found a man selling healthy livestock of all sorts.

"May I help you?" the merchant asked with a toothy grin.

"Yessir," the farmer replied, "I'm looking for another fine animal to put upon my property."

"Old Jones, isn't it?" was the reply with a tip of a hat. "Well then, what of my fine animals will you be havin'? I'll give you a fair price, to be sure."

The farmer did not doubt the merchant, as they were on good terms with another. As such, the merchant knew just what he meant when the farmer made his selection. He pointed straight into the pen and said, "I want you."

What did the farmer receive?
