Somehow wound up with a houseful of people Shocked - The Puppies no longer are snoring - they're enjoying all the company (and couple of freinds' dogs showed up with their humans too). 'Bout 5 minutes to go here, snowing pretty good outside, windy - glad we're inside. Breakin' out the champagne in a couple minutes.

<sigh> well, it could have been worse! I spent nearly the entire day doing lesson plans (math!). I went to dinner with my parents. The place we booked a reservation for hadn't told us of the special menu and the special price per head. So, we left (we all hated to, but we had to - bad food for me, bad food for dad, too much food we wouldn't eat, too expensive anyway). We got a seat (barely) at Joe's (not exactly cheap itself, but very worth the price). I love that place. There was also a special menu, but not a special price. We all enjoyed our food tremendously and the atmosphere of the whole restaurant was festive, laid back, warm. Very nice. when we got home, I gotback to work. My mother went to bed 1/2 hour shy of midnight. I took a break from lesson plans at 10 til and toasted the new year with my dad while watching the fireworks in Boston on TV. Then I went back to work. I think I am done for the night (one more plan to go..... tomorrow).

Happy New Year to you all!

All's well that ends well, k!

But I'm curious .... how much time away from work do you actually get after Christmas/new year?

I know that this is not your big holiday season, like it is for many of us here in Oz ....

Happy new year to you, your family & your ravishingly gorgeous cat! Very Happy

From school? At the elementary level just over 1 week - we worked on the 23rd and will be back on the 2. Colleges and unis get more time.

Just as I thought. At around 9 p.m., we were watching the third disc in the Alfred Hitchcock, Second Season DVD. Next thing I know, it is 12:30 a.m. I run to the bedroom in a stupor, fall asleep, and did not get up until nearly 1:30 a.m., when I took a shower.

Ah, what an exciting life I lead. Rolling Eyes

A belated Happy New Year, everyone!

As exciting as mine, Phoenix.

The last I recall, I was reading quite a fascinating section of E L Doctorow's The March .... around 10:30 pm, I think.

Then I was woken up by much tooting & yelling outside.

Confused "Huh? 207, I guess?"

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ....
