If we can base future federal deficits based on history, the republicans have more frequently increased the federal deficit than the democrats. With this information and the fact that Bush has increased our federal deficit to new highs, I would presume that the democratic congress will slow down the deficit for the next two years. If a democrat takes over the white house in 2008, we will see the federal deficit reduced even further.
