Christmas is not a christian holiday, its orgins are all pagan.

I'd say it's a mix. There's a Christian meaning, Christian songs and Christian services. But there are a lot of pagan traditions that have been adopted. And also a lot of modern rubbish.

It is also a great marketing tool. Some people are constantly complaining about the "commercialization" of Christmas. I really wonder what the state of the US economy would be were there no Christmas season!

I'd guess that most of the people who are weeping and moaning and gnashing their teeth about the commercialization of Christmas are hanging out at the mall with capitalist friends.
