Why Kill the Golden Goose?

The Bible speaks of the various miracles which Jesus performed. There is the miracle of turning water into wine. The miracle of raising the dead . The miracle of multiplying five loaves of bread and two fishes into food enough to feed thousands of people. The miracle of healing various diseases etc...

Now there arises a problem when One views the accounts of these miracles in the light of what happens to Christ at the End. If One would sit back and make an objective analysis of the whole situation, they will see that it makes no logical sense. Here is a man who has the ability to feed thousands, make the best wine, heal various types of diseases and still in the end the majority of people wanted him dead. The response of the people at the end do not seem like the actions of individuals who had been witnesses to some of the greatest miracles known to man. The Bible says that when Pilate asked if they wanted Jesus crucifed, the people cried out the more exceedingly that he should be crucified. At least those who are seen as heathens would have dissented to his crucifixion so that he could stay around and continue to make more of that most excellent wine.

So now by objectively looking at the whole situation, One is lead to six possible conclusions. There may be more but so far these are the ones which we will present:

1. Jesus didn't perform the miracles which are accredited to him

2. Jesus did perform the miracles but a lot of people did not see them. But then this would contradict other verses in the Bible. For instance John 6:2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

3. The miracles which the Bible speaks of are symbolic or representative.

4.The people saw all the miracles but they did not care. This makes no logical sense?

5. The people saw the miracles but they did not know that they were miracles. This again makes no logical sense. It does not take a genius to recognize that a guy who is walking around raising dead people is doing a great miracle.

6.The people were divided into two groups of people. There was one group who wanted to kill him and there was another group who liked him. But at the end the group who wanted to kill him won out over the group who liked him .

Now, are we missing something here? Were the people so dumb and ignorant that they did not know that they had a Golden Goose in their midst? Or was there something else at work?

Mark 15:14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

Luke 23:22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let [him] go.
Luke 23:23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
