it might be a cold day here before hollywood comes back, but you can still find a shell of it's former glory.

I can't get it Sad

Duh...it's called the Hollywood Bowl, so would the answer be Los Angeles?

It's never cold there.

I disagree Chai. I live in LA and you definitely need a sweater tonight.

oh....well, I heard it never rains in southern california.....is that a lie too?

curious, what was the temp last night?

I guess I got the impression of mild weather from that Steve Martin movie, LA Story, where he was the "wacky weatherman" remember, he'd give the long term forecast and it'd always be the same?

That was a good movie.

Actually we do get some rain here Chai. Occasionally it will rain at night as I can see it oon my car in the morning. But we only get serious rain for about 2 weeks during the winter. Right now it is about 70 degrees. Last night it went down to a bone chilling 56.

You don't remember this song?

Got on board a westbound 747
Didn't think before deciding what to do
Ooh, that talk of opportunities
TV breaks and movies
Rang true
Sure rang true

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

Out of work, I'm out of my head
Out of self respect, I'm out of bread
I'm underloved, I'm underfed, I wanna go home
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

[Instrumental Interlude]

Will you tell the folks back home I nearly made it
Had offers but didn't know which one to take
Please don't tell 'em how you found me
Don't tell 'em how you found me
Gimme a break, give me a break

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

A bone chilling 56? brrrrrrr!!

You know, it's funny, whenever I would talk to relatives back East, they'd ask me what the temperature was (like you really care, put on the Weather Channel) So, like in Feb I'd tell them, "well, it was 40 today, or 50", or whatever

"OH, WELL IT'S MINUS 18 DEGRESS HERE!!!"

like, you point is?
Jeez, I sure wish I was living where it's all icy and ****, why did I ever leave?

Then, in the summer...."how hot is it?"

"I don't know, 101?" It's not like I spend any time outdoors in the summer, I'm a fall/winter person.

"OH, WELL IT'S 90 HERE, REALLY HOT!!!"

so....you're not really listening to me, are you?

I was listening quite well Chai! Unlike the song, my life since moving to California from Arizona and before that New England has been loaded with good fortune. The song is right that it seems it never rains here. I spent a year living in Arizona where the temp in the summer was an unbearable 120 on the hottest days -- and my cars A/C had gone out! So I lived through it all before getting here. And I ain't never goin back!
