Sorry for this tangent, but I was thinking; that PK has done more for education than thousands, nay millions, of parents and teachers. c.i.

I have been bad.

When I went shopping yesterday, I went into the local bookshop - there, lining the pavement, was a huge queue of munchkins, and their parents, waiting tensely for their Harry Potter.

Hmmmm, thought I.

I went to the newsagent to buy a paper or two. There, on the counter, naked, sinuous, beckoning, waaaaaay cheaper than the bookshop ones, was a pile of Potter! I fell.

@lillyrox,
don't think so

from wikipedia

A two-part film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is planned, with David Yates directing both parts. Part I is slated for release on 19 November 2010, and Part II on 15 July 2011. The script was delayed as Steve Kloves did not start working on it until the 2007"2008 Writers Guild of America strike had ended. Filming began in February 2009 and ends in June 2010.

from IMDB

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
Release Date 19 November 2010

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
Release Date 15 July 2011

no indication anywhere of a part 3, i've heard that they are trying to release the film in 3D

i read somewhere (i think mugglenet.com) that they (actors ect.) like making hp films so much that they did basicly every scene in the book so they split it into 3 parts, part 3 coming out in july 2013. as for 3d, why do you think it's taking so long? obviesly i know that.

Mugglenet did indeed announce this... but the announcement came on April Fool's Day. That might explain some of the unusually candid reasons cited for the alleged 3-part movie, such as "We've got to be honest. When we started shooting Deathly Hallows, none of us wanted to stop. We experienced a fan-gasm." Or "WB tells us that the reason Parts 2 and 3 have a 2-year delay in between them is due to the fact that they want the franchise to last longer."

@Shapeless,
ha, that explains a lot, i was pretty sure it was only 2 parts, and couldn't find anything anywhere that said different

they should have made HBP a two part as well, they really rushed the 6th film i thought

@djjd62,
Yeah. I had such high hopes for the sixth movie because it's my favorite book in the series, but I was pretty disappointed. Some of the filming decisions just didn't make any sense. I realize that not every single scene in the book could make it into the movie, but by taking out the attack on Hogwarts at the end, all of the scenes of Malfoy and the Vanishing Cabinet were rendered entirely pointless. The movie kept harping on his efforts to fix the cabinet, and when he finally did so and managed to sneak some Death Eaters into the castle... all they did was escort him to the front gate. That's just bad screenwriting.

@Shapeless,
yeah, the werewolf that sides with voldemort (greyback?) was introduced in book 6 and is a pretty big part of 7, they should have introduced him in the 6th film

something that confuses me is the wedding scene at the beginning of 7 is a pretty important part of the story, it was set up in book 6, but ignored in the film, plus the scene were harry and ginny run into the marsh and weasleys house was destroyed was not in the book, with the house destroyed, were is the wedding they haven't mentioned going to happen, really curious to see how they handle this

@djjd62,
There's also the matter of the Horcruxes. The movie glosses over Dumbledore's deduction of the remaining Horcruxes. No mention of Hufflepuff's cup, Slytherin's locket, etc. Does this mean Harry has to figure out all that stuff himself in the last two movies? Dunno how that's gonna work.

@Shapeless,
I'm Jewish, so I don't really pay much attention to April Fools unless I'm in school. Actually, that morning I was really jumpy for AF but I guess under the pressure of my hollidays, I kinda forgot at the end of the day.
