It's been raining where I am for a week.

Most of Australia's urban water shortage stems from a lack of appreciation for the fact that we live on the dryest continent on Earth.

Add to that our wasteful usage of water, and you have a crisis. Forget the fact that no new dams have been built for twenty-odd years.

G'day builder your skills and knowledge would be most welcome around A2K. welcome and enjoy your stay mate.

Uur rainfall for 2006 is 325mm less than half the annual average of 750 mm.

you are however correct on wastefull usage. If city/town people only had tank water as many rural residents do they would soon cut water waste.

Hey mister. I live between mountain ranges, and it takes a while to dry clothes round these parts. Yuk yuk.

It's the failure to look ahead that caught this administration short and curlied.

My area is flush with H2O, and those dirty bastards want our water.

I can smell a fight coming. How's about you?

They already take ours its the only thing keeping the Murray flowing and the breadbasket and fruitbowl full.

The constitution says we cant deny water at original flows to downstream so there isnt a lot to be done except encorage them to be less wastefull.

The Murray is a national disgrace. Saltier than the ocean when it meets the sea.

We do gotta eat, but most of our Mighty Murray goes into textiles for foreigners.

It would take more than a short debate to change the lifestyles of several hundred river dwellers. They gotta change tack. Simple as that. Mebbe.

Beach cricket, maybe.

Bribie is all rugby league and football, Australian style.
