Thats antisocial . Stabbing to death in exchange for an assault, is not exactly what HAmmurabi had in mind.

Yeah.
When someone puts his hands on your MOTHER,
sometimes people get emotional;

don t u think ?

Not the point really, would you have pleaded the guy out or trusted the jury?

That may have a factual basis in real life.

History records that one of John Gotti 's sons
was fatally hit by a car driven by a neighbor.

The neighbor oddly disappeared,
never to be seen again.

Whatever the client wants.
HE has to live with the results.

true, there were a few Soprano plots ripped from the pages. Now, my question, would you have pleaded the revenge killer.?

Do strange dogs like you, OSD, or do they show you their teeth a bit?

I wud carefully consider the facts
and lay the results of my analysis
in front of my client for his decision.

Its like a surgeon considering a dangerous cardiac operation.
He can describe the relative risks to his patient,
perhaps offer an opinion,
but he can t make him DO anything.

He can accept the surgery,
or walk away n take his chances.

People with different personalities
and with different values can reach different decisions.

Its not " one size fits all. "

P.S.:
TRUSTING is not the right concept
to apply to a jury ( nor to anyone else, either ).

Its just a question of whether, under the extant
circumstances, u choose to take your chances.

Most attornies I know would have probably tried to convince their clients into accepting something with a minimal sentence, rather than hutzpa"ishly trying to push for a trial "not guilty-by reason of..." or some extenuating circumstance , alia " deep concern for my mothers honor' or something like that.

There are some very good prosecuting attornies who would maybe surprise us with their skills and ability to do their homework.

Perhaps that speaks to the powers of judgment of the friendly ones.
