Annie Lennox - Everytime We Say Goodbye

the song is from the red hot and blue aids benefit cd featuring reworkings of cole porter tunes

Wow, love the video. And that hair.

I'm trying to do that with mine, but, it just doesn't work for me.

Sounds like a great CD.

Thanks for posting it.

It's got to be Donovan's "Catch the Wind", IMO.

A lovely voice. So clear.

Oh no, those were AWFUL renditions of that song...thanks for the effort dupre but yikes! If Andrea Bocelli heard those, he'd wish he was deaf too. Confused

Here are far better ones.

Time to Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro) This one is studio.

This one is live.

And if you prefer someone other than Andrea...this dude did quite well. And is pretty easy on the eyes. Surprised

They sound like an opera love duet.

I'm not familiar with the story.

Someone went blind?

So, why did they have to part?

Symphony No. 3 - Henryk Górecki

I couldn't find this.

Anyone know where I can listen to this online?

Cat Stevens really was something.

Whatever happened to him, anyway?

One of the comments on that video:

What a pity such a great talent decided to stop making music and waste the rest of his life. Ho many more wonderful songs might he have otherwise written?

The real version of the song is called (in English) "I Will Go With You" Con te partiro means "I will go with you."

The lyrics translated....

When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
And words fail
Yes, I know there is no light
In a room where the sun is absent
If you are not with me
At the windows
Show everone my heart
Which you set alight
Enclose within me
The light you
Encountered on the street

I'll go with you
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you
Now, yes, I shall experience them
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them

When you are far away
I dream on the horizon
And words fail
And yes, I know
That you are with me
You, my moon, are here with me
My sun, you are here with me

I'll go with you
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you
Now, yes, I shall experience them
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them again
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them again
I'll go with you
I with you

_______________

Time to Say Goodbye replaced "I'll go with you" when Andrea Bocelli did it with Sarah Brightman. The other guy did it without the english words, which is how it should be. I just love Andrea Bocelli's voice so much, I forgave him changing the words. Very Happy

As for being blind, Andrea Bocelli is blind.

here's that symphony, I think:

http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:Nu2VZvbw1uYJ:www.emusic.com/album/10872/10872056.html+%22Symphony+No.+3%22+%22Henryk+G%C3%B3recki%22+%22listen%22&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2

No, it isn't. you can't listen to the whole thing.

I did find a review that really whet my yearnings to hear it:

Bella Dea.

Thanks for the translation and the information about the male vocalist, Andrea. He has an amazingly powerful voice. And so does she!

I re read my post and realized I made it sound like Andrea stole the song and changed it.

He did it first, all in Italian. But then changed it when he sang it with Sarah.

That one is beautiful. She has a stunning voice. My favorite is actually Cancao do Mar, but I think she probably has better ones.
