How Misinterpretation has affected the Human Civilization

As an example,
I get Astonished of how many times I run into situations where I meet people, and I perceive Certain intentions, emotions ( maybe fear), Tones in their voice or maybe a kind of look in their eyes that make me classify that person into a certain type , and maybe prejudice him without really knowing them,. And they end up being another type of person that I originally thought they were.
This is just an example but I feel taht can happen with almost everything we experience in life.
Until what point are our senses trustful or our perception reliable?.
Talking in a more General way , I think this has happened all across human existence: Misinterpretation, one of the biggest errors that have led Modern civilization to believe now a days in things that are not really true.
A simple example is how the Incas ( Native Indians From Peru) believed that the sun was indeed God, and made rituals and sacrifices for it, killing innocents. Well we have all herd about this. But have we though about the consequeces?
The same happens with the Church in Europe in the time of the Inquisition, people had to pay taxes to the church because in that way they could be permitted to go to church pray, and gain their way to heaven, save their souls, and maybe get cured of terrible diseases that were in that time believed , to be sent as punishment by god, or maybe the devil.
Well, these are al examples and I'm not trying to judge any of them ( the INCAS or the church) the point I want to delucidate is how The Human Specie has been for so long exposed to ignorance, and Misinterpretation. Why is this, why would a God sent us to earth to be so NAive and not even now our own way of functioning? well everybody must have their own answers. But it's strange and I have always wondered how Humans are so complicated in all their Aspects: Physically, Psycologically, emotionally, etc, and how we have had to cope with our own Complicate essence through all ages, without a "Panel of Instruccions" or a " spiritual GPS system" it seems as if the Being, or whatever designed us ( if someone indeed designed us) made us with the intention to come to earth at the begining as total IGNORANTS of our own essence. WHY?
I imagine the Caveman wondering around Jungles or Mountains just living as animals at the beginning of human existance, not knowing the enormous amount of truth that we now know, thanks to the advances made in the last century or maybe in the last 30 to 50 years in Genetics, Medicine, Astronomy, Physics, Technology, etc.
I wonder what would Happen if Civilization would start again, but forgetting everything that happened before the last century, only taking as truthful the new Things we know ( Things Scientifically proven, Known as unrefutable truths, things learned by experience etc) ..how would it be? ... would it be better?... would there be less wars, Intolerant religions and ideologies??
I don't know , what do you think?............
