CASE 1:

8 min fuse = A; 4 min fuse = B; 5 min hr-glass = C; 3 min hr-glass= D

T=0
light one end of B
flip over D

T=3min
A has 8min left
B has 1min left
C has 5min left
D is empty
light one end of A
light other end of B
flip over C

T=3.5min
A has 7.5min
B is gone
C has 4.5min
light other end of A
lay C on its side

T=7.25min
A is gone
flip C upright so has 4.5min left

T=11.75min
C is empty


CASE 2:

5 min fuse = A; 3 min fuse = B; 8 min hr-glass = C; 4 min hr-glass= D

T=0
light both ends of A
light one end of B
flip over D

T=2.5min
A is gone
B has .5min left
C has 8min left
D has 1.5min left
light other end of B
flip over C

T=2.75min
B is gone
C has 7.75min left
D has 1.25min left
lay C on its side

T=4min
D is empty
flip C upright so has 7.75min left

T=11.75min
C is empty

Cool ya i think it was easier once i knew how many steps i needed
