One proud northern monkey registering his Britishness here sir!

*Opportunistically makes off with the peperami noodles*

Nooo-dels??? What do you do with these? Do they form a stylish hairpiece per chance? I have a stick, maybe I could fashion some sort of mop? The wilderness does need a good clean I suppose.

Hiya Smorgs, I'm a pretty sporadic poster so it's no surprise, tend to read a lot more more than I post. Glad to see the City flag popping up in this thread as opposed to a certain red one that does the rounds in your neck of the woods.

Northerners, southerners?? Oh remember the days when we used to band together to fight those strange people with blue face paint from up north, you know, back in the 40's, the 1340's...ah those were the days...

Hi Ashers, I'm also glad to see City being supported for a change, as I always laugh at Utd followers (I won't call them fans) as most of the time, they've never been North of Watford.

Speaking of which, I have a question for the Northern contingent.

I'm spending the weekend in what looks like (on their website) a very pretty little hotel in the Lake District.
Now.....on their site, they don't mention whether they have electricity. Shall I bring a big candle, just in case? Or will they have lanterns in the rooms?

It is a complete myth that tribal scots ever painted their faces blue...perpetrated by that disgrace to the acting profession Mel Gibson and his silly film.

Unless you were talking in a different time frame i.e. about quarter to two in the afternoon at Ibrox...

Originating from the red half of Manchester, and having seen Law Best Crerand Charlton Foulkes and even Harry Gregg play at Old Trafford, I think I am well qualified to advise you what to do with your candle LordE.

(Melt it in a chip pan and fry bits of wool caught on barbed wire fences...its a local tradition..)

I tried that, Steve, and can thoroughly recommend it with bubble 'n' squeak.

As a "genuine" red , doesn't it just make you grimace just that little bit, all those foreigners just jumping on the bandwagon?

I think Keano summed it up with his "Prawn sandwich" swipe.

I don't even like United actually, I would rather support City but I accept that United are a better team most of the time.

Didn't mean to sound snappy - I'm just close to the edge today.

xxx

by the way - don't call me Dot. I hate it.
