Another wrong conclusion. Faced with that sort of choice, a logical man of conscience would refuse the order and take the punishment. Only a mentally defective individual would kill themselves. Where's the logic in that act?

Lets hope the enemy in any war is mentally defective, then tell them they will have to kill 2 year old kids and they can kill themselves without a need for a war.

material girl: thanks for helping raise the level of consciousness. War is man's biggest affront to sensibility and the advance of civilization. All war is insanity - whether it's choice of killing a 2-yr-old child or another enemy soldier. However, current reality is that this ugly insane war exists, and when someone chooses to be a soldier and is put in the position to kill, AND IF there can be a conscious choice about who you kill, you may choose to take punishment INSTEAD of killing an innocent child.

For the moment (and for the sake of this discussion), we must put aside that issue of collateral damage caused by bombing which DOES kill indiscriminately. We must recognize here that people ARE PURPOSELY put in harm's way by Hezballah and other Islamic fascists to increase the sensationalism and inject propaganda into the media when collateral damage kills civilians put there.
