I tried to download the toolbar because it looks cool. But my virus checker told me not to trust the download because it probably contains spyware/adware. But this website denies using spyware/adware. Anyone know what's going on?
It's a false positive because the toolbar is based on code that is available for sale, and that other people have used to produce a couple of toolbars that do contain spyware or other malicious implementations.
That being said, if you have any concerns at all just don't use it. It was a lot of work for me to make, and I shared it simply because it may be a useful tool for others. If you are suspicious about it and/or the site I'd actually much prefer that you didn't install it because while I'm willing to share tools and resources I'm not fond of incessantly being suspected of malice as a side-effect of doing so.
