Real Hair Extensions - Don't Wear Them

I am disturbed by the current trend growing in popularity to have someone elses hair stuck to your scalp.

I would imagine that any woman desperate enough to cut off and sell her hair must be experiencing a kind of poverty that we can only have nightmares about.

It honestly sickens me to then see certain celebrities or rich women walking around with someone elses misery stuck to their head. Plus the fact that they nearly always look AWFUL.

I'm sorry but I really don't get your point here at all.

Hair doesn't cost anything to grow and it grows right back. It doesn't hurt to cut it either - people get their hair cut all the time for sillier reasons than say, feeding their family.

If someone wants to sell it and someone wants to buy it what's the problem?

Am I missing something here?

It's not like we're talking kidneys. We're not Barbie dolls, hair grows back.

Locks of Love is a great group where people donate their hair to make wigs for people who have undergone cancer treatment.

I also have a girlfriend whose black and she uses hair extensions to have fuller, longer hair. She looks fantastic, yeah it's vanity, but there's worse things in this world to spend money on.

Many women with beautiful long hair will donate their hair to
those who make human hair wigs for women undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

Sorry to tell you, these women are NOT motivated by POVERTY.
They are motivated by CHARITY. Cool

It's the compassion thing to do.

Actually there is a seller's market for human hair for wigs and hair extensions. As far as I know there aren't sweat shops for hair growers and people aren't being mugged for their hair.

It's all very O. Henry - sell you hair to buy something you want.

No harm, no foul.

I think wigs are great.

Jennifer Aniston complained in the last few months about how extensions can ruin your hair and i recently saw a pic of Posh Spice with her hair looking thin on top after the weight of extensions pulled it out.

They're relatively inexpensive, disposable and can be made from sythetic material or human hair.

I wonder how much human female hair is now imported from China.

I personally think that fake hair looks awful on most people...unless it's done by a professional and is weaved in. There is a lady here who just sticks it on the back (the ponytail kind) and it looks terrible.

However much it bugs me, it doesn't sicken me that she spends her money on it.

It takes a sense of style to know how to wear real or sythetic hair.

Few American women know anything about style. If they did, they would not be so fat and sloppy looking. Would they?

That was pretty mean...
I am not fat or sloppy...and neither are most of the women I know.

I'm pretty sloppy. I prefer to spend my money on things like attorneys and mortgage than fashion.

I'm not really fat though.... maybe a little.

Perhaps I should apply for joint citizenship with somewhere......
