Subject sort of speaks for itself but still.
Are prisons a good idea or should we be finding someother way of punishing criminals?
If you can refer to religious arguements, that'll be helpful as it's part of my R.S. summer project.
Thanks
I was watching an episode of Porridge the other day(UK popular 70's comedy set in a prison)
I kept thinking, apart from the no freedom aspect, how similar it was to a holiday camp.
Im aware its not a true depiction of a prison but it is based on most aspects.
I think the prisoner should have whatever crime they commited, to happen to them.Or the victim should pic a punishment.
Seems only fair.
Prisons work. Rehibilitation doesn't. Prisions only work because they CAN'T commit crimes against society. More walls, more bars, more prisions. Alcatrez was a fabulous idea. I don't agree with some of the inhumane treatment that occured but the principal was good; remove them completely from the rest of the world.
