Do you think men should wear Capri pants? Never even thought about it before - but the other day - I looked and there was a man in Capri pants! And he wasn't even holding a man bag.

I didn't notice about pedal pushers, but he looked normal until I saw the pants were capris.

No he wasn't playing tennis, but I didn't speak with him so I don't know about the spanish part.

Plus, tennis player Rafael Nadal of Spain, winner of the French Open, frequently sports his capri pants, even during matches. Nadal, being a famous sports icon, advertises them well on international television, proving to the world that capri's for men are truly a good thing.

(Now, if that's a "man" in the picture in the story I linked to, I'm a violin.)

Couldn't open the link - but if men wearing capris means keeping up with the times - then give me back my punk hairdo.

He must have been European. Like the rest of the freaks on the beach wearing banana hammocks.

The thing is, us Europeans have bananas that are big enough to go in a hammock.

Linkat, was he a short guy?

Here in southern California, the new cargo bermudas are a bit longer
than regular bermuda shorts. So, if a guy is on the shorter side, it
easily can look like a capri.

Besides, the new trend are pleated skirts. Last week I've seen several
men wear them - okay, admittedly in a part of town we so fondly call
gay-crest. They looked similar to this:

CJ, that looks like a Scotsman without the hair and the beer belly.

Only gays and bullfighters wear capri pants, and I think there may be a connection

Why, are there plenty of bars, where one can order a beer and a battered sausage?

Skirts!!! O-K I thought the capri was weird. I don't think it was because he was short as it was of the longer capri style - not mid calf, but a little above the ankle. Also not high waters as the style above the ankle was definately what you would see in a capri - the tie thingy.

Yepp, plenty of bars with plenty of beer to drink. A battered sausage
has probably a different meaning in gay-crest.....

CNN report from 1999:

Pushing pedal-pushers on men
August 12, 1999
Web posted at: 11:30 a.m. EDT (1530 GMT)

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Capris, pedal pushers, clam diggers, flood pants -- call them what you will -- the three-quarter-length trousers are crossing gender boundaries. At least, that's what some ready-to-wear houses -- Perry Ellis, BCBG and others -- would like us to think, as they crop their pants for men and try to get guys to wear them.
