Using the server logs I will periodically name the most popular topics here in terms of search Engine Referrals.

I will probably do a weekly or monthlt update but the current winner is only based on the last 24 hours (since the logs on this new server were turned on).

Today's winner is Walter Hinteler for the query
which country makes panama hats

How you can optimize your topic for search engines.

A) the title of the topic is far more important than any other text. Make sure the keywords are in there. Putting good key words in your topic titles will make your topic beat out other web pages in search engine rankings.

B) The frequency of posting won't make a difference. Using the right words will.

C) If you have a webpage link to the topics you create. Make sure to link using the keywords. A link that says "click here" is not good. A link that uses the keywords is better.

D) Put it in your signature. Search engines don't manage to get every single page of the site in their next update. So putting it in your signature will make it more likely that it's found the next time a search engine visits.

E) If you link to it from other topics on Able2Know make sure to use text. Not just a link. The link should display the keywords like this.

knowledge exchange

F) It takes time (usually a few weeks) to get a new page updated in various search engines. If you want visitors from search engines to see your topic make it early. By that I mean that if you know a movie is coming out in 2 months make the topic now, start discussing it and by the time everyone is searching for that movie you will probably be in the search engines.

If you need a2k to find yourself... that's a shabby reality indeed...

I lose myself in a2k.

(Not really. I lose myself in the supermarket.)
