Ever since Craven completed the latest A2K work, my computer is swamped with pop-ups. I have pop-up controls set at the highest level, but I can't seem to stop this invasion.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
BBB
And I wonder why some say they are infected .... and others, like me, aren't at all.
I have to throw my hat into this ring as well
not only do I get pop ups ON a2k, I had an adware program titled A2K.

I found that adware program in my system on the weekend. Cleaned the bugger out, but I'm sure it's trying to get back in.
I cleaned it out once.
It came back
cleaned it out again and Trend Micro found it last night again..
little pest.
How do you clean it out?
I'm having a lot of trouble again today.
when you are talking 'pop-ups' , i assume you are not thinking about the ads appearing on the right side ?
i get those but they don't seem to be a problem .
i have the full 'mcafee' installed and it seems to block pop-ups out - right now it reads "33 blocked" .

no hbg. These are ads that appear on top of the screen and then keep it up until about 10 or 15 clicks . My spyware and blocker is on full life support and its still happening. I usually log out every so often and this seems to help for a while
farmermann :
i sem to get few of those 'nasty' popups - unless i go to a
german website
to read a newspaper . i find that 'mercedes- benz' is a particularly nasty popper-upper ; they seem to think that they can convince me to buy a 'merc'
fat chance !

I use Firefox as my browser and don't get pop-ups. Is it affecting only those using IE?
I use IE and I don't get anything...no pop ups, no adverts down the side, nothing.
I have Norton Internet Security, if that makes any difference.
IE 7, normal virus protection and windows firewall - never had had any pop-ups on A2K from the very beginning onwards.
Walter, maybe the pop ups fizzle out, halfway across the Atlantic.
The A2K "do over" consisted of server moves and server maintenance. Nothing involved can have any affect on your computer.
Your experiences are very very likely due to malware on your computer and you should seek help in the computer forum.

Guys, "A2K" (no relation to Able2Know) is a virus, not just spyware. You should really get your computers checked out as it will be actively trying to infect others.

It's also a very old virus, so if you get infected with something like this, your computer doesn't seem to have a functional antivirus solution running and you'll need to correct that to avoid repeated infections.
My system's been clean since I tidied up last week.
I run etrust security suite which includes Pest Patrol, e trust anti virus, and
E trust firewall I dont get any popup adverts except the underlined wordsin each post.
