Twinkie Burritos? Twinkie Lasagna?

CHICAGO (AP) - Twinkies, they're not just for dessert anymore. The new "Twinkies Cookbook" has recipes for everything from a Twinkie Burrito to Twinkie Lasagna.

Theresa Cogswell compiled about 50 recipes for the book.

Many were submitted to Hostess, as part of Twinkies' 75th anniversary celebration last year.

Cogswell tells Illinois' Daily Southtown newspaper that one of her favorites is a berry-laden Patriotic Twinkie Pie.

It's red, white and blue.

Cogswell says it makes a great centerpiece for a Fourth of July picnic, which you can also eat for dessert.

Among other joys it guides sophisticated cooks to Twinkie Sushi, and comfort-food devotees to Pumpkin Twinkie Bread Pudding.

That don't even sound good!

Ya know a few years back someone figured out you could fry those things, and so....they have become a big hit at the state fairs in the south.......can't imagine...lol

Deep fried twinkie on a stick, rolled through powdered sugar......not my idea of a good treat.

I really hope they are talking desserts? When Twinkie Lasagna comes to mind, I think of chunky red sauce...with loads of garlic, and some cheese....I shiver to even think about that mixed with twinkies...!

Maybe the Lasagna they are talking about is with Rasberry sauce....or Twinkies layered with Strawberry's and Whipped Topping...

Ok, I have to admit guilt here...I have made a Twinkie Cake in the past. It Strawberry's, Vanilla Pudding...Banana's and Whipped Topping all layered. But let me rephrase THIS..."IN THE PAST"........LOL
