Generations of Noah (Status)

Gen. 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Recently in Generations of Noah (Body) we embarked on our search to discover who or what Noah is. In that first leg of the journey we discovered that through misinterpretation, there has been a misunderstanding of Gen 6:9 (These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with GodGeneration: (n) 1 a : a body of living beings constituting a single step in the line of descent from an ancestor b : a group of individuals born and living contemporaneously c : a group of individuals having contemporaneously a status (as that of students in a school) which each one holds only for a limited periodContemporaneous : (adj) : existing, occurring, or originating during the same timesynonyms see CONTEMPORARY

3. Status: (n) 1 a : position or rank in relation to others *the status of a father* b : relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige; especially : high prestige 2 : the condition of a person or thing in the eyes of the law 3 : state or condition with respect to circumstances *the status of the negotiations*

4. Period: (n) 6 a : a portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon b (1) : the interval of time required for a cyclic motion or phenomenon to complete a cycle and begin to repeat itself contemporaneousstatusperiod' we can clearly understand the that another qualification for generation is that;

A. A group of individuals must have a position or rank in relation to others (status 1a) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a) .
B. A group of individuals must have a relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige (status 1b) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).
C. A group of individual must be in a certain condition in the eyes of the law (status 2) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).
D. A group of individual must be in a state or condition with respect to circumstances (status 3) that is existing, occurring, or originating during the same time (contemporaneous) for a limited portion of time determined by some recurring phenomenon (period 6a).

What the third meaning is trying to tell us is that, while existing, occurring, or originating during the same time, a group of individuals who comprise a "generation" will be in the same position, state, or condition in relation to others, in the eyes of the law, and in respects to a particular state of affairs or circumstance for a certain portion of time. For example: The generation of Americans who were born during the times of 1901-1924 are generally known as the G. I. Generation or the Greatest Generation. In terms of their rank of prestige (status 1b), they are highly honored and esteemed, hence the name Greatest Generation. Their state or condition with respect to circumstances (status 3) was determined and held during those periods of The Great Depression and World War II. During those circumstances, their state or condition (status 3) was that of community, bravery, determination and willingness to sacrifice.

If One will study generations, they will notice that with each successive generation, status declines. The newer generations will be weaker or more corrupt than their predecessors. This can be seen with the generations which succeeded the GI Generation. These generations state or condition were not formed by the troubles of the Great Depression and World War II. Since, this is the case, if One examines those generations, they will see a big difference in their position, or rank in relation to their predecessors. One will also see a difference in their relative rank in a hierarchy of prestige, condition in the eyes of the law, and state or condition with respect to circumstances. These generations are not considered as brave, determined, willing to sacrifice, or dedicated to community as that previous generation.

Finally, all generations have markers which distinguish them. These markers are determined by that generation's condition in the eyes of the law, the state or condition of that group with respect to circumstances, and position or rank in relation to others during a limited period. As time continues each successive generation will corrupt or decay and their position or status will be worst than the previous. The generations of Noah are no different. They also have distinguishable markers which they will hold for a limited period. Their status will be determined by all of the qualifications which are used to measure all the generations of the earth for that time.

1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 [One] generation passeth away, and [another] generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Luke 16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
