I have no idea why that bastard killed that magnificent animal, but I shall track him to the far corners of the planet and beat him like a red-headed stepchild.

In the year 1887 these five Wyoming cowboys had some fun and roped this wolf...
Later, the wolf chewed through the rope and devoured the cowboys one by one.
There was nothing left but cowboy hats and spurs.
It was a beautiful thing.

It's a shame that there are never pictures available of the carnage to elk and cattle in the wake of the Canadian wolves introduced into central Idaho. Currently, there are nearly 1000 wolves in Idaho alone, and they're still listed as a protected species, even though this particular variety is not native to the area. They are currently costing the ranchers of Idaho over a quarter of a million dollars annually in killed livestock alone. The impact on our back country outfitters is harder to quantify, but several of our local guides are nearly bankrupt. People are much less likely to pay for guided hunts when there is no game available to be seen.
We hear a great deal about how successful the wolf recovery has been. My response has been that it ranks right up there with leafy spurge and spotted knapweed.
