Civilized Enough for an Ancient Verbal "Duel of Truths"?
We, as direct descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, are once again being attacked by the multi-billion dollar religious corporations, their hired help and fear-filled supporters. Fortunately, today, they use verbal attacks and economic terrorism, rather than using 400 years of Inquisitions to torture and murder in order to silence the descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.
Is today's western society civilized enough for a "Duel of Truths"? The "Duel of Truths" resolved disputes on different interpretations of scriptures in ancient times. Spiritual leaders 4,000 years ago did not settle disputes by having their followers kill and murder other people because of different interpretations of God, "religious disagreements" were handled in a civilized manner.
In civilized times, spiritual leaders settled differences by writing up and sending their different interpretations of Creation and/or scriptures to a review panel of widely known independent scientific and spiritual leaders. The independent scientific and spiritual leaders would then give their opinions on the differing interpretations, enabling people to make a choice based upon an independent, and unbiased summary of the differences in the different interpretations.
If church leaders in today's world consider themselves civilized, then the elder brother of the 21st century descendants from the 1st century marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene challenges the leaders of any and all churches to the ancient "Duel of Truths". In our opinion the discussion should be on the first four chapters of Old Testament's Genesis, the first book of the Bible and the foundation for the Old Testament religions of both Judaism and Christianity.
The Old Testament is selected for discussion because the Roman Empire's New Testament is an extremely weak and diluted form of information about our ancestor. Most open-minded Biblical archeologists agree with our viewpoint. Open-minded Biblical archeologists know that the Gospels in the Roman Empire's New Testament were copied from a source document, which they call the "Q Document", and that the Q Document is the Gospel of Thomas.
So, unless church leaders are willing to agree to a written discourse of Jesus' mysteries and truths in the Gospel of Thomas, I suggest that we send written commentary on the first 4 chapters of Genesis to an independent review panel consisting of several agnostic scientists, a Hindu Brahmin priest and a Tibetan Buddhist Lama. The panel can then issue commentary on the information sent to them.
As an example: People have been told for centuries that Adam and Eve were the first human man and woman on planet Earth. That is a false statement because the first human man and woman were created in Chapter 1 of Genesis, while Adam and Eve were created later, in Chapter 2, for a good reason. It is the same reason that answers the question of how Cain, one of Adam and Eve's three sons, (who had no daughters), was able to travel "east of Nod" and marry a woman. In addition, the same reason extends to answer the question of how it is that God created light on the first day, but did not create the sun until the 4th day.
In summary, perhaps a newspaper's readers would enjoy reading, and a TV or radio talk show's viewers/listeners would enjoy listening to someone read, for 4 to 9 minutes each program, the actual comments from all sides together with the commentary, by the independent review panel, over a period of time.
Welcome to the forum, isarae, I'm sure you will have fun here. I've never met a direct descendant of Jesus. Would you mind tracing your family tree for us?
