Millionaires are sure better off. The people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, not so much. To put it mildly.

To me, being european the question is "are we better off as an international community after bush assumed office".
And the answer is not easy. It is impossible to determine better or worse in this situation. But the global situation is definetly more tense since he started poking the anthill.
In my opinion bush is nothing but a greedy little dictator who hides under the guise of democracy. It's very clever and very cynical and extremely unhealthy for the attitudes of people worldwide.

Lol. You reckon America might one day go for an Empire, like if peoples ideas and beliefs change in the future? They are after all decendants of the Brittish, who made the worlds largest empire, and they definately have the power.

It is not bush precicely that's the problem. It's the indifference of those many nameless ones like you and me.
What bush does is to ensure that this indifference lasts, and the means to do that is satiation. If every little craving and every yearning is satisfied we simply do not care.
