I agree. They must be spectacular in the wild.
They live in the tropical areas of Mexico and Central and South America. The males grow to lengths of up to 3 feet, mostly tail. Once mature the males sport raised dorsal and caudal fins.
Ok, now I have a minute to do a search..... By the way, rosborne, were you in cambridge last night?

Nope. I was down in Medway Mass at a company cookout. Why, do I have a twin in Cambridge?
I'm not sure he's a twin, but he looked a lot like you. Or how I remember you looking.

Bingo! Crested Green Basilisk. You're up.
This bird lives in the tropical south pacific. It incubates it's eggs in sandy holes which are warmed by volcanic activity. It's endangered.
Good find. That looks right to me.
Geez, Francis, you're good. And, you're only on when I'm asleep! The bird I posted for guessing at is, indded, a Maleo bird (just to be official) of a variety that lives in the south pacific.
Yes, Littlek, just click on my Maleo link...
(Sorry we can not sleep together, err, I mean at the same time due to the time difference)
There are very few maleo photos on the internet, that I could find. Hence the clues.
Is your monkey a tamarin?
It's indeed a Tamarin, Littlek!
Someone else post a picture, please?
Try this...
Looks like a hamster, but it's not.
Looks like a Sagebrush vole (Lemmiscus curtatus).
