@rosborne979,
I already checked out civets (great minds etc.). Doesn't look right. It still looks like a raccoon dog to me. Not having much luck.

How about a hint, Francis?

If it's not a raccoon dog, is it a bearcat? They don't have the raccoony mask, but it's worth a shot.

@Francis,
I will next time. I just looked at African civets. I wasn't that specific when I looked the first time. Saw a lot of spotted brown animals.

@Francis,
Young animals are hard to identify.

This one has ears which are too small for a deer, and its nose is a bit too short. I think I've seen it before, but I can't place it without seeing an adult.

What country does it live in?

@Roberta,
It's indeed a pudu, Boida.

Now post a new picture.

I promise I'll find it difficult..

@Francis,
I don't for one moment think that you don't know this, Francis, but I didn't know it until I went looking. Glad I learned something.

@Roberta,
It's been too long since I posted here. I love this game and continue to come check out the hard-to-name animals. but I like the guessing more than I like to find animals to post.

Roberta's is Macropinna microstoma, commonly known as the "barreleye" or "spookfish."
