It's some kind of small primate. Can't figure out which one. I've looked at aye-ayes, tarsiers, marmosets, tamarins. The face and hair are wrong.

Francis, am I right about it being a primate?

rosborne, I think that could possibly be a tree shrew, possibly even a madras tree shrew. I also think I could possibly be wrong.

Difficult to say from the picture, but such North African rodent in an human environment could be a gerbil..

Sorry the picture is so nonspecific. All the other photos I found had the name of the animal in the URL.

This rodent is actually more likely to be found in the Middle East than in North Africa. It's closely related to gerbils. It's name rhymes with a kind of animal that flies.
