ok, I have 3 conundrums here that are driving me crazy! help!
1.) Ian and Sylvia were found dead on the floor. The only clues are broken glass and water on the floor. What happened?
2.) The woman arrived at the hotel and immediately knew she was bankrupt. Why?
3.) A doctor, lawyer, and an engineer were in a house. A police officer walking by heard, "Oh no, John don't!" and then a shot. The police officer went into the house and saw a dead woman and a gun on the floor. He turned to the lawyer and said, "You're under arrest." How did the police officer know?

The only one I'll guess at is #3. The Lawyer's name was John. And because lawyers are known a$$holes.
(1) Ian and Sylvia are pet fish, and their fishbowl broke
(2) She was playing Monopoly
(3) He was the only man in the house.
markr's right on target. BTW, #1 is so old I didn't think there was anyone who didn't know the answer.
I knew the answer to #1. I just figured everyone else did too!
