Another striver for serenity! Good morning, flushd. Very Happy

I love those little things, too. Guess I'm much more into the micro than macro. I'm constantly stopped dead in my tracks when accidentally coming across something just simple, yet beautiful. Gardens are good for this, I've found! Very Happy

I agree that holding in anger leads to inner-frazzlement, but getting comfortable with expressing anger has been a challenge. Should've started the process a long, long time ago!

Chai, I just called you cypher! It was that avatar that caused the confusion!

I LOOOOVE the new avvie!! It's beautiful, Chai! It looks like me, only maybe a little drunk or overdosed on some prescription drug.

I'm so proud that you finally got away from all those gorgeous dames and joined the ranks of the be-catted!

Anyway, I love this thread, Olga, I shall be reading along and hopefully picking up some tips on serenity...I've been in a very stressful time lately too, so I sympathize with you. Sad I wish I had some advice to share, but unfortunately I have yet to find good ways to relax that don't involve sugar fixes!

Exactly, c.i.! And the wine calms your nerves, too. They're both good for you...in moderation, of course. (That's the part that always gets me. Laughing )

It is, it is, Eva! Nothing what-so-ever to do with human weakness! Nothing, I tell you!

But this afternoon I'm relying on a healthy hit of vitamin D from the sun & some relaxing cat therapy to do the trick!

And an un-named A2K friend is downloading a relaxation tape for me as I type!

Pity there's no chocolate here right now, though!
That would be just perfect!

I find that, after a hard day at work, there's nothing better than to jog naked round the block, with a cold face flannel tied round my forehead.

Well, msolga, strangely enough, I find my most serene time is in the middle of the night. Sometimes I wake up and just sit on the edge of the bed and wait for a still small voice of calm.

Also, I find that searching for things that linger in my head is a good way to get my mind off my problems.

Hey, L.E.. I'll try that sometimes when the golfers aren't on the green. I would hate to distract them from their appointed task. <smile>

I was told a period of frenetic physical activity followed by complete rest is a great destressor.

sex

or a hard run or gym workout followed buy a hot radox bath.

One of the reasons I believe we suffer so much from stress these days is the lack of physicality in our lifestyles. I am much less stressed since I changed my job to one that incorporates a fair degree of physical activity.

My solution to this is for everyone to have a wood heater and have wood delivered "in the round" so that you have to go and cut wood with an axe for an hour or so each week.

Yeah, yeah, I know, dadpad ..... <sigh>

It's just every now & then a person can get a wee bit wobbly.

This will pass.

(It'd bloody better pass before too long, that's all I can say!)
