. . . IS GIVE SEALS A CHANCE
Yeah, i know, that was a Lennon song, not a McCartney song.
Paul and Heather Mills McCartney, and Brigit Bardot, have gone to the Gulf of St. Lawrence to attempt to end the annual Harp Seal hunt by the publicity they command. Above is a link to a story about it at CBS.
This is a link to a statement by the Canadian High Commissioner on the topic of this traditional seal hunt.
Guerilla News offers
this story of an offer by American businesswoman Cathy Kangas to simply pay the Canadian government the $16 million dollars projected revenue from the hunt, to be distributed at the government's discretion.
Whaddaya think folks?
I think it's nice to see someone put their money where their mouth is for a change.
I have such divided thoughts on hunting. I believe in it on a basic level. I respect people who hunt for their food. I despise people who hunt for fun and profit. I'd like to hunt poachers myself.
I hear so much horror about hunting and hunters. Maybe it's a few bad apples that are spoiling the crate, but I feel like the whole thing has gone so far from subsistence hunting.

i also despise the people who buy seal coats.

So many people to hate, so little me. *sigh*

I'm a pacifist, hate is bad for my complexion.
