Crucifixion, Judas & Islam

While a fresh historical row has erupted over Gospel of Judas, Qu'ran and Islamic history too had recorded this event in which the blames lies on Jew rabbis for carrying a campaign and plotting to kill Jesus.

According to Islamic history quoted by Imam Jalaluddin al-Suyuti (born 1445), it was Judas who faced death on the cross and not Jesus whom God had "raised unto himself" (Qu'ran Chapter 158).

According to Al Suyuti "when the rabbis could no longer bear Prophet Jesus' preaching they hatched conspiracy to eliminate him with the help of one of his disciple Judas, who is known as Tatyanoos in Arabic history. With the help of Judas, the Rabbis used Roman soldiers in their plan".

Judas informed them that Prophet Jesus would be alone in a room at a particular time. Thus Tatyanoos or Judas as he is known in the Bible, accompanied by the Roman soldiers made his way to the place where Jesus was offering his prayers.

Judas instructed the soldiers to remain outside and entered the room alone.

However, before Tatyanoos entered the room, God "raised Jesus up"! So, when Tatyanoos entered the room, the room was empty. Judas' appearance was miraculously transformed to resemble that of Jesus. The soldiers, despite his protests, captured him and crucified him in Jesus' place.

Qu'ran has recorded: "... and for their (Jews) saying, ?'We killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah'. They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but to them (the one crucified) was given the look (of Jesus).

Those who differ concerning him (Jesus) surely are in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of supposition, and they did not kill him ?- a certainty. Rather, Allah raised him up to Him. Allah is Mighty, the Wise." (Qu'ran Ch. 4 verses 157 - 158).

===============

"But you will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me.

They approached Judas and said to him, "What are you doing here? You are Jesus'
disciple."

humm..

I,ve been reading the 'Gospel of Judas' threads that have been posted with great interest, just wanted to inform people about the role of Judas Islam.

As you can see its a miraculous prophecy in the Quran come true, it matches well according to Islam

It would be interesting to debate this with fellow Muslims, actually everyone can take part, hoping there will be no Ad-Hominem attacks, just as Muslims have NOT done with the other 13 pages Gospel of Judas threads.

Please read the Quran and compare with the Judas Gospel.

Peace.

Welcome to the forum, coexist.

If what you are saying were true, it would directly discredit Paul's words at 2 Timothy 3:16: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight. . ."

Were the bible not inspired, we would be free to set standards for ourselves, exactly what Satan promised Adam and Eve.

This is not offered in proof of the bible but as reason for my disbelief.

What's so nice about religion is we know so little about Jesus and early Christianity that anyone can concoct a tale or conspiracy about Jesus, Paul or whomever.

We haven't been able to sort out Kennedy's death and look how recent that was. Lord knows how many conspiracy theories one can come up with concerning Jesus.

Coexist, you may have more bibles even than Frank Apisa.

The point is that if all scripture included in the bible canon is indeed inspired, then any non conforming doctrines must be false.

If the bible is not inspired, then it cannot be a source of instruction.

Oh, and good to see you back, xingu.

If Paul (not exactly God himself) says that all scripture is inspired, why would he only be talking about the scriptures contained in the bible? Inspired by God does not equate to absolute truth.

Good point.

Perhaps, but two truths cannot contradict one another.

In the case of a contradiction, then, how would you know which to choose?

My personal feeling, though, is that contradiction is in the eye of the beholder.
