I still don't have much to share, but I still dig a lot that I discovered on this thread. Let's keep this going.

Ha! I was going to come in here and post some of ~my~ fav Infected Mushy tracks - little did i know thread was actually to do with Infected Mushroom.

Gold star for you, monger, nice work.. Smile

I'm wrapped to learn that Hallucinogen and Salmonella Dub are headlining this years Earthcore Fest! They are two of my fav.. or anything off the "twisted" label - Lone Deranger, Dementertaintment, prometheus, etc etc!

Should be awesome - any of u guys going?

heheh, there's a Johnny depp, Fear & Loathing sample on the start of last years Earthcore compilation - classic! "somewhere around Barstow, on
the edge of the desert, those drugs begin to take hold" What a brilliant flick!

Infected Mushroom have made great stuff.

Right now I'm listening to Power source's "Goaway", a really great track.

All time favourite has to be Astral Projection's "Utopia".

Have to give an honorable mention to Orbital. Their final album wasnt all that great, but Insides and The Brown CD are a notch above in my opinion. Im also growing partial to Aphex Twin, its some crazy stuff.

Goa/ phychedelic trance & other electronic music
Those are all pretty good but you gotta try the one and only Mixamaster, bad boy of techno, piedpipper, DJ SUPERSTAR KEOKI. The Keokiclash and ego trip albums are kick ass. You also might like Loop Guru, Micro, Freaky Bones, Seb Fontaine, and old school Utah Saints " they rocked back in the day". I've always been into deep old school, the roots and the inventers of the beatification of the beat like Joy Division, Happy Mondays and New Order. Very Happy

Iam a serious psy trance/ goa, and ambient fan and below is a list of a few things that I believe are neccessary if you like that particular thing..

Oh and they are available from an excellent shop called Edit: Moderator: link deleted - can listen to snippits as well.

psychedelic trance -

cosmosis - contact - transient records -SUPERB!! flows beatifully from track to track.

nu-clear visions of isreal (part1) - Tip records- One for the dancefloor

Sharigrama - mexican mushroom - AP records. Excellent. Probably the best album so far this year. Goa trance at its best!

Grapes of wrath - tits on fire - Parvati records. For those of you up for a bit of night time expeimentation. Completely bonkers soundscapes that are there to twist the mind some what. Excellent if the brain can handle it.

Entropy - The Second Law of Thermodynamics - Doof records. Like above this is definitely for the darker times, and is a lot more mysterious than most dance music ive listened to. Another brilliant listen.

Ambient music:

Entheogenic - spontaneous illumination - C.O.R.N recordings.
MY GOOD GOD!! This album is so beautiful to the ears it is the sort of thing you could imagine listening to in heaven sitting on a big fluffy cloud. If this description has put anyone off it really shouldnt because because it is not 'cheesy', but has a deep vibe and searing melodies that send the brain into exhileration. If you do not like ambient music (which i didnt until I heard this) you should get this and i believe it could change even the most firm believers mind around. Another one where a 30 second snippit will not give a clear indication of how good this is.

Wider horizons - dragonfly records - This is very very good as well. More upbeat than the album above and hits all the right spots when in a relaxed mood. Good back ground music or if in a deepthinking mood an album than can get deeply into your brain like the one above.

Hope this has been of some help, and happy listening if it has!!

Anyone interested in the cream of British electronic talent should check out the following top labels: Warp, Rephlex and Scam. Home to the greatest of greats: Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Cylob, Boards of Canada, Savath & Savalas, Autechre, Two Lone Swordsmen, Amen Andrews, !!! and many many more.
Try the websites for more info, they should all be easy enough to find on Google.

hey there, first time post for me. Smile even though every music genre has it's gems, for me goa has it's very special place in my heart. I had been looking for music "like techno, just better" for years before I finally found my first goa record ("goa head 3" compilation, an absolute classic) when I was 14 (8 years ago).

my favourite artists:

astral projection (try: mahadeva, solid electronics)
etnica (aka pleiadians) (try: infinite dream, vibra)
hallucinogen (aka shpongle) (try: mi-loony-um!, spiritual antiseptic)
infected mushroom (try: symphonatic, deeply disturbed)
juno reactor (try: pistolero, badimo)
psysex (try: l.s.dance, soda pop)

my favourite albums (that are not from my fav. artists):

akanoid - 33/45 best 'til now (emotional spacious psy guitar trance)
deedrah - body & soul (interesting, fun full on)
deviant electronics - blunt instruments (psychedelic break beats (mostly chill out))
human blue - electric round about (sooo relaxed, yet powerful)
saiko-pod - phutures & options (the cover says intelligent trance and downbeat and I agree)
sphere - rotation (psytrance and singing do go together)

my favourite songs: way too many to list
