A few days ago the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Boris Tarasyuk had a successful visit to Washington. He was reported that the level of meetings was high and the amount of time spent with American administration was more than originally anticipated.

Apparently, Tarasyuk had a pretty busy schedule as in less than two full days he met Vice president Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other statesmen of US administration.

It would be interesting to know that Tarasyuk spoke with Cheney for about 40 minutes, which was twice the planned time, so hopefully they talked about more than just weather, while Tarasyuk's meetings behind closed doors continued long after midnight.

According to Yuri Klyuchkovski, member of Our Ukraine faction, very serious matters have been discussed during this part of Tarasyuk's visit, among them thorough support of Washington for Victor Yushchenko in case his Our Ukraine loses parliamentary elections scheduled for March 26. Washington is knowingly very much interested in Yushchenko's staying in full power after elections, that's why they won't raise objections if he compasses to annul election results, or dissolve the Rada or even abolish constitutional reform in Ukraine.

Yuri Klyuchkovski also added that the Our Ukraine headquarters stand by the potential disorders and have worked out clean-cut scheme of actions for this case. For example, some 10,000 to 15,000 activists of "Our Ukraine" have been notified to arrive in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, to hold a continuing meeting like it was late in 2005 during the so-called Orange Revolution. Besides, the leaders of the PORA units have received clear instructions to get hold of polling stations so that to annul results providing that Our Ukraine is apparently loosing the election.
