so far i know judaism, christianity and islam all come from the same source and all are branches of the same tree.

so will someone explain why the behaviour of the origianl abrahamic religion - judaism, is so different from the secondary abrahamic/semitic religions ??

why is it that the jews never ever harmed anyone in their 4000+ year old existance, unless you consider moses leading the hebrews into canaan (judea and israel)............. while christians have wiped out th population of 2.5 continents, colonisised and looted the world hollow, started inquisitions and what not. and muslims, not to be left behind either, have brought death and destruction where ever they went, destroyed the persian civilization, almost nearly destroyed hinduism and india, killed millions in genocides in armenia, in bangladesh, in east timor and in crusades etc etc.

if they are all similar, then why is it that the father is one kind and the 2 sons are the most blood thirsty cut throats ever walked the earth?? take any large scale fight or carnage in history - and you will find secondary semitics on at least one if not both sides of it.

On the other hand the jews not only have waged war on none, but have themselves been at the recieving end of serious stick from all secondary semitic countries they have been to, through out history (save perhaps persian iran and the islamic chaliphate in bagdhad's glory days).

and if i had to chose a religion thats the complete anti thesis of judaism it had to hinduism.

they believe in linear time. one life and then death.
hindus believe in cyclic time and life-death cycles.

they have tenets/laws and do's and dont's.
we have none, though we have ancient practices which have become infallible like laws, the way a person who has been taking a morning walk for 25 years everyday, will continue doing it as if it were a law that he should.

they have strict no-no against idol worship.
we worship idols (though its iconatory not idolatory).

they are strictly monotheistic.
we are monotheistic only when analysed very closely and are for all practical purposes as polytheistic as they come.

and yet jews and hindus have never had a fight. this i have on authority. the oldest of jewish synagogues built in india are still intact. each year 1000s of israelis come to india and feel at home amidst the blatant "paganism" on display. they never complain about the idols or the polytheism.

meanwhile the musilms broke half the temples of north india (and some of south as well), and christian missionaries still have complex plots and plans to "save" indians and harvest our souls. the portuguese carried out the most brutal (by their own admission) of inquisitions in goa and daman-diu.

what gives???

if 2 "poles apart" religions like judaism and hinduism can accept each other for what they are, then why cant the secondary semitics???? whats wrong about secondary semitism, that they should be so different from judaism in their actions ??

Interesting thesis !

No doubt the anti-semitic argument will surface that
Jews have had no need for war themselves since they have "manipulated others" or that "Zionism is a de facto aggressor". However despite these purile arguments I think it is the case that Jews do not seek converts. Perhaps this is true of Hindus as well.

a come-hell-or-high-water tenacity to convert others indeed is one of the reasons why the secondary semitics never think twice about becomming agressive.

but there must be some other fundamental difference between the original abrahamic religion and its offshots.

maybe that the latter 2 also have a political design/motive of controlling others and dictating terms to them and deciding how they should live, how many times they should pray or whether they should have sex before marriage or should they be allowed to abort unwanted kids etc.

as for hinduism, not only do they not proselytise, their "religion" is a bell curve of the religions beliefs of an entire society. so accepting other's takes and religious viewpoints is ingrained (else the bell curve called hinduism would be non-existant).
